Don Albinson papers, 1946-1995.

Approximately 600 35 mm slides, organized by date, including domestic and international business trips and the construction of the home he designed for his family. Three design-related slide lectures are part of this group: "Vinyl tops and opera windows, " "Mailboxes, " and "Signs of are (sic) Times." Also included are six articles written by Mr. Albinson for INDUSTRIAL DESIGN magazine, twenty-two furniture patents, print interviews, a copy of his self-published "Autophotobiography, " his design resume, and books about him.

He was educated at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and later worked in the offices of mid-century modernists Eero Saarinen and Charles Eames, prior to opening his Los Angeles-based industrial design firm in 1959.
